Sunday Night Make Up Shake Up #28

I am now being forced to use the new format of Blogger against my will, gah! I don't like it, I don't understand where things are. Oh dear! On to this week's make up...

MeMeMe Seventh Heaven Enriched Moisturising Facebase - This is like a hybrid moisturiser/primer with a cream/gel consistency that smells amazinggggg, like oranges. I love it.

Skin79 Super+++ Triple Function BB Cream - My skin is currently purging at the minute (more to come on that topic...) and I have some small but very red spots, with more probably to appear, so I am going with this BB cream as it has buildable coverage. I always forget how much I like this stuff.

MeMeMe Beat The Blues Moonbeam Highlighter - I am actually mixing this with the BB cream and using it all over my face - you must try it. Gorgeous, illuminated yet natural-looking glowing skin. Fantastic!

ELF Studio Cream Blush Flirt - This cream blush was actually a freebie that came in a 'mystery bag' my mum got with an ELF order. It's a bright, hot pink shade, with a spongy, mousse texture, and you only need a little or else you look like Coco the clown. I am not a huge fan of this, mainly due to the unnecessarily bulky jar. Why make it so big when you don't need to?!

Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoos Permanent Taupe and Charcoal - Two new colour tattoos to play with! I might use these on their own if I am in a rush, or as a base if I have more time.

Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette - I so rarely use this palette, it's a joke! It has some beautiful colours and so I am aiming to make some use of it this week.

No. 7 Extreme Length Mini Mascara - I really don't have much to say about this mascara; decent plastic comb, nicely separates lashes. The usual!

Revlon Lip Butter Crème Brulée - A new toy! And a new favourite. I love the creamy texture of this lip product, it feels really smooth and nourishing. It isn't the most pigmented of colours but is a great everyday natural, not quite nude shade. I can see me getting a lot of use out if this. As much as I love it though, I feel that it is very overpriced at £7.99! Almost £8 for a glorified tinted lip balm?! These are $6 in the USA, which is about £3.70... so why the heck are they so much more in the UK?

Another selection to keep me going this week! Have a good one folks!

Curiosity Cured - Vintage Jewellery & Accessories

Cross over to the quirky side

Jewellery is a thing of beauty, no doubt about it. A correctly chosen item can compliment and complete an outfit, or indeed, an entire outfit can be based around a stunning piece of jewellery!

I love handmade jewellery, and one-off pieces that no one else is likely to have. With this in mind, I would like to introduce you to  Curiosity Cured - a new brand that is emerging on to the style scene in Northern Ireland.

Curiosity Cured was created by three friends with a penchant for unique and quirky pieces of jewellery. These ladies have deftly taken matters in to their own hands and created their own collection to appeal to like-minded jewellery lovers.

Vintage plays a large part in  Curiosity Cured 's pieces. Something old is turned in to something new; vintage pieces are upcycled in to fabulous items that pay homage to an era gone by. Each collection offers something different, with themes such as Alice in Wonderland, Beads, Bows and Bonnets, Vintage Vibe, Cameo Queen and Butterfly Garden.

Evolving from their jewellery line, a cute collection of accessories are also available, including romantic hairbands, shrugs and detachable collars. I personally adore their photo frames!

Vintage dresses are also sourced from around the world; each distinctly fashionable and highly wearable, with a story to tell and stories not yet discovered! Fashion lovers and those who appreciate unique and vintage pieces would be well advised to keep an eye out for  Curiosity Cured 's upcoming dresses!

Curiosity Cured will be in Dublin at the Hapenny Flea Market at the Grand Social this Saturday 28th April, where you can meet the lovely ladies behind the brand and pick up some of their gorgeous goods! There will be exciting things to come from this brand in the future, so make sure you check out the Curiosity Cured Facebook Page for regular updates on their activities and where to find them!

Sunday Night Make Up Shake Up #27

Yet another attempt to shake things up with my make up for the week!

MAC Face & Body Foundation C1 - I am beginning to wonder just how long it will take me to finish this beast of a bottle! I have had it for 7 months now and it seems like it's still over half full! Light coverage should be enough this week.

Technic Illuminating Face Primer - This wee bargain is definitely not bad for £4! I don't think it totally smooths the texture of the face like silicone based primers do, but it definitely brightens tired and dull skin.

NYC Blushable Creme Stick Big Apple Blush - A really natural flush of colour, blends beautifully.

NYX Powder Blush Stone - This could probably work as a blush or contour; I bought it with contouring in mind, as Taupe was out of stock, but I have used it as a blush too and it looked fine. This photo makes it look muddier than it really is!

MAC Quad Dazzlelight, Jest, Woodwinked, Handwritten - I am actually using Jest quite regularly but the other shadows get neglected, so I need to start using them more. I love all the shades too so there is no excuse!

Inglot 2 Pan Palette Matte 360, Pearl 423 - Two gorgeous shades that I won in a giveaway by the lovely Rachel, which I think will work well with the MAC shadows too.

Urban Decay Lush Lash Mascara - I like these plastic combs with mascara, so this is always a winner for me. Although I have poked myself in the eye with it before!

Avon Lipstick Pout - A natural rosy pink shade, nothing too dramatic here!

No.7 Liplicious Moisturising Balm - I definitely think this is more of a lip gloss than a balm; I don't think it would do much for chapped or sore lips. It is slightly sticky, but shiny and long lasting.

I am back to normality after my birthday last week, booo! Oh, and the cake was chocolate. Amazing. Have a fabulous week everyone!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes on Twitter everyone. I was stuck in work but had a lovely day anyway, which was topped off by this fantastic cake that my boyfriend got for me!

Sunday Night Make Up Shake Up #26

Ye olde Make Up Shake Up time again! Apologies for the tardiness. Hangovers waste entire days for me!!

Murad Skin Perfecting Primer Matte Effect - Have you all figured out my 'I'm tanned' products from my usual pale products yet?! Heehee! Yep, the tinted primer is out because I fake tanned for the weekend and can't pull this off when pale!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation 51 and 52 - You also know I'm tanned when the Healthy Mix 52 comes out! And 51 to mix it with as I get paler! As always, I love this foundation. Fabulous drugstore product.

Illamasqua Cream Blush Sob - A gorgeous blue toned candy pink cream blush. Applies beautifully even with just fingers.

Illamasqua Powder Blush Lover - I love this warm peach shade as a really natural, flattering shade. Needless to say, these won't be my last Illamasqua products!

*not pictured* Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Shadow Pencil Sin - I forgot to include it in the photos, whoops! I do love the 24/7 pencils as eyeshadow bases and highly recommend them.

Wet n Wild Colour Icon Shadows Sugar, Brulee, Penny & Nutty - I picked these up in Florida for 99c each. Best. Bargain. Ever. LOVE these wee shadows.

Natural Collection Lip Liner Almond - This is beginning to turn in to a wee stump of a lip liner pencil! Sign of being well used and loved. I will no doubt pick up more of these for myself and my kit.

NARS Satin Finish Lipstick Honolulu Honey - An underused NARS product! Sacrilege!

BarryM Lip Gloss Bubblegum - I have been neglecting this gloss of late which is a shame as it is a lovely pink shade. It doesn't apply as scarily neon pink as it looks in the tube. It, of course, smells lush too.

So that is this week's choices sorted and ready to roll! Have a fantastic week everyone!

OOTD - Spring Wedding

On Saturday I attended a friend's wedding, and it was a beautiful day all round. Beautiful friends, beautiful weather and a great day in general, even if it did get a bit messy from 9pm onwards! Here is what I wore...

Dress - Nine West (TK Maxx)
Heels - F&F at Tesco
Clutch - FCUK
Suit - Brooke Taverner
Shoes - Front

I got a few compliments on my dress which was nice, as I never wear yellow and was a bit apprehensive about it at first! It was a great find though from good old TK Maxx. As you can see my boyfriend was looking rather dapper in his new suit too!

Due to lack of time today, plus generally being rather hungover, my weekly make up shake up will be up tomorrow!

NOTD: Lavender

I actually don't wear very 'girly' pink nail polishes very often. However I picked up NYC Lincoln Square Lavender a few days ago in Superdrug as there was a 3 for 3 offer on the NYC polishes. I also got a new topcoat and a lovely taupe 'griege' shade.

I used Barry M Pink Irridescent on the ring finger nail as an accent.

The NYC polish was beautifully glossy even before I added the topcoat. It covered perfectly with 2 coats and the drying time was very speedy. I had chips appearing on the second day of wear, however in my work I am constantly using my hands and so any polish I wear gets ruined!

L-R: W7 Harder & Tuffer Nail Treatment, NYC In A New York Minute Lincoln Square Lavender, BarryM Pink Irrisdescent, NYC Expert Last Nail Polish Classy Glassy
This will be coming off tonight and I might do something more sparkly on my nails for the wedding on Saturday.

Also, some exciting news! Check out this post on Sugahfix about the new NI bloggers' FABB Friday that's going to be taking place on Twitter on Friday evenings! You can follow me on Twitter (@gottaloveatrier) and the other FABB ladies too, or just keep up by following the hastag #FABB.

Sunday Night Make Up Shake Up #25

I am very aware that it's not Sunday, but I took an unexpected hiatus from the internet for a few days! I must say it was nice to just get on with life for a change! Anyway, on with the make up shake up! I'm going to keep it relatively 'light' make up this week, to let my skin breathe before my friend's wedding on Saturday.

Technic Prime It Illuminating Primer - My town recently got a new shop; The Original Factory Store. This is a rare occurrence, and a big deal in a small town like mine! It is a sort of bargain shop type thing, and whilst browsing through it to see what the craic was, I found this primer for £4.00. It would be rude not to try it for that price! Time to see how it fares...

MAC Face & Body Foundation C1 - I fall in and out of love with this foundation but it is very light on the skin so I will be trying to make it work!

Illamasqua Cream Blush Sob - My first Illamasqua purchases arrived last week and this was one of them! I love it already. A blue toned candy pink cream blush that blends beautifully. Yum.

MUA Blush Shade 2 - One of my first MUA purchases. It's not the best blush in the world, a bit chalky to be honest, and I might throw it out soon. I think it will work better over the cream blush though, and so I'm giving it a last run!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion* - I hate the packaging of this and am considering chopping up the tube to depot it! A staple in many a make up bag though.

NARS Eyeshadow Duo Portobello - Do we all remember my great idea to buy this just because Jenna Marbles uses it?! LOL. Oh what a fickle blogger I am! This is nice, and the shadows are well pigmented which is a rarity for matte shades, but the colours are practically exactly the same! Oh well. I still like it!

Milani Marbelized Baked Eyeshadow Mélange - This is a handy little shadow for smoking out any eye look and adding more depth and definition.

Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara - This is starting to get thicker and drier now *wail* not fair! I love it and we don't get it in the UK or Ireland!

I hope you all have a fab week! I am back to work tomorrow for 2 days then have booked Friday off for wedding preparations, i.e.: getting fake tanned up to my eyeballs, painting nails and such.
*Received from Urban Decay Masterclass. I paid to attend the event and all attendees received goodie bags.

Apparently I Filmed A Video?!

How did this happen?!

Yes, after approximately 35 years of not making any YT videos, I have succumbed and filmed one! I was tagged by Laura to do the 7 Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag to ease me back in to it! Expect a few more videos soon....

OOTD - Love Hate Relationship

I wore this outfit to work today and spent the whole day loving it. Thought I looked fabulous. Even if the dress did keep riding up my legs a bit much. I thought I looked pretty good, you know? Then I got home and took some outfit photos and realised I was very much deluded.

I got this dress on Saturday in New Look and thought I had picked up a bargain; reduced to £12.99 and with ruched material across the side to disguise bulgy tummies like mine...

Dress - New Look
Cardigan - Gift from Poland
Tights & Pumps - Primark
However, to me in these photos, it just looks extremely blah and unflattering. I think it emphasises my stomach and the neckline is too high or something.... *sigh* I can't pinpoint what it is, but I just think it looks utterly rubbish. Whether it's me or the dress, something isn't right. Removing my make up before remembering to take the photos probably didn't help either. I actually had to set vanity aside and wear my glasses for the shots because in the ones minus make up and glasses my face looked like a potato.

Not a happy bunny with this dress any more!

New 17 Purchases

I honestly cannot remember the last time I bought anything by 17! However I had spied this blush in a blog post recently and decided to pick it up in Boots.

I also got a lipstick too, as I am always on the hunt for everyday nude shades (spoiler: this sadly, isn't one!)

I swatched several nude toned lipsticks in Boots before deciding that 17's Dare to Bare was the one for me. Oh, how wrong I was! Never trust a hand swatch!

As you can see, the lipstick is a very peachy, brown toned nude which is way too dark for me! Perhaps on someone with darker tones it would work, but it doesn't suit me at all. At £4.29 it didn't break the bank, but it's still a disappointment.

First Kiss is a really pretty pink blush with a subtle hint of gold shimmer. As you can see from the swatch, the gold shimmer barely shows on camera but in person, it is just a slight sheen which looks lovely.

The blush is definitely worth the £3.99 I paid and I plan on getting a few more! Beauty bargain for sure.

Have you any 17 recommendations?

OOTD - Starships Were Meant To Fly

Title has nothing to do with what I'm wearing here, I am just currently addicted to that song!

I think a have quite a random, eclectic style; I don't like to pen myself in to a certain style box, nor do I follow current trends too closely because I am wary of what suits me and what makes me look a damn fool. This Monday for work, I felt like I should kinda release my inner rocker a wee bit (says I with the Nicki Minaj lyrics title). I loved it.

Jacket - TK Maxx
Cardigan - Hoi Polloi
Vest Top - Primark DIY job
Skirt - H&M
Tights & Scarf - Primark
Boots - Missguided

Necklace - Connie's  Crafts (local jewellery shop)
I loved stomping around in my boots with my jangly necklace like a stroppy teen - it was like being 16 again, minus the red hair and over-plucked eyebrows!
