Sunday Night Make Up Shake Up #41

I do apologise for the shocking tardiness of this post! After a weekend of cleaning like a maniac for my mum returning from holidays, and a baby shower for my first ever friend (hi, Lisa!) I just had had zero time to sit down with my laptop!

Technic 'Prime It' Illuminating Face Primer - This doesn't do much as an all-over primer for me, in that it doesn't help keep my make up in place for longer or anything like that. It is good for adding glow and luminosity on the cheeks though so I just use it there at the minute or mix it with my foundation for lots of glow!

Bourjois Healthy Mix 51 - I have been neglecting old faithful Healthy Mix lately - I must step away from the NYC All Day Long foundation for a change!!

NYC Blushable Creme Stick Big Apple Blush* - I will never step away from this for too long though, sorry! A fantastic creme blush that I wish I could find more of in NI!

17 Powder Blush First Kiss - This blush has been compared to NARS Orgasm blush on other blogs and I have to say it looks very similar. It is slightly similar also to the Sleek Rose Gold blush, but this is more on the pink side of the spectrum!

E.L.F. Eyelid Primers Natural, Champagne - As much as I love faffing about with eyeshadow and blending and all that, in the morning before work, it is really neither practical nor necessary as I end up wasting so much time. I have had these primers for ages so will try them out for a quick eyelid touch up in the mornings instead of the usual nonsense!

Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara** - I really like this little travel sized mascara, it holds a curl really well, which is a feat with my wee stumpy lashes!

You may have noticed a complete lack of lip products - the truth is, despite all my good intentions about using up products etc, I rarely use lip products during the day, except for Blisteze, and so I have decided to face facts and not include them unless I really think I will use them!

Have a great week everyone!

OOTD: Ride The Lightning

Let me just put it out there - I LOVE that I can wear this to work and no one bats an eyelid. Yup. Never could have done that in my previous jobs!

Blazer - F&F @ Tesco
T-shirt - Ebay
Skirt & tights - Primark
Converse - Journey
Guest Appearance - Fluffy

My new ebay find arrived on Saturday and I am so happy with it! I was outbid on it but got a second chance offer from the seller, which was actually the second time they had offered me one after being outbid one of these t-shirts, so this time I took them up on their second chance offer of £4.20! With £1.25 postage that still makes this a bargain in my eyes. The skirt was a £2 sale find in Primark, bought it for my upcoming holiday but I thought it went so well with the top that it made an early début.

I had someone in work tell me that they liked my dress when I wore this! A Metallica t-shirt dress.... someone needs to sort out this idea! Perhaps if you look too much in to the details and the euphemism 'ride the lightning', this top might not be to everyone's taste, but I love Metallica and this top and that's all there is to it!

Sunday Night Make Up Shake Up #40

Is it just me or that that scarily close to a YEAR of make up shake ups? Yes? Thought so. Also, I got a light box! Hoping this will improve the quality of my blog photos - let me know what you think!

Murad Skin Perfecting Primer Dewy Finish - I always forget I have this sample size primer. I have tan on at the minute so this tinted primer should be ok on me this week!

NYC All Day Long Foundation Classic Biege - This has been featured a lot recently! To be honest, it is a no-brainer as an every day foundation, cheap, cheerful and fine for when I am just in work.

Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation Light Pink - For when I become paler during the week!

ELF Cream Blush Flirt - I am using this a second week in a row as I quite liked the effect last week when using it with the Lauren Luke foundation brush (hence all the stab marks in the product!). It isn't the longest lasting cream blush but a nice colour when used sparingly.

Physician's Formula Happy Booster Blush - I think this natural pink will work well layered with the ELF blush underneath, and also give it more staying power!

S-he Stylezone Eyeshadow Trio - I am keeping eye products minimal this week as I tend to get lazy on work mornings and rarely use any! This little trio is neutral and handy to reach for in the mornings.

Urban Decay Lush Lash Mascara - I have managed to cull my current in-use mascaras and so this will be getting more use! A nice separating mascara for every day wear.

NYC Liquid Eyeliner - Because sometimes I need a bit more DRAMA!

That's this week's make up shaken up! Have a good one everybody!

Sunday Night Make Up Shake Up #39

I didn't get around to posting this on Sunday, whoops! I has a four day weekend and I honestly don't know where it went!! Oh dear... on to this week's face!

Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer - I quite enjoyed using this primer last week, so I have decided to use it another week in a row!

Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation Light Pink - In the past I have had issues with Avon foundations as their palest colours were still to dark for me, but with this foundation, Avon have really nailed it for pale ladies like me! I am still undecided about the wear time but colour wise, fantastic.

ELF Cream Blush Flirt - A very bright pink blush with an odd texture... somewhere between a sponge and a mousse, rather than a cream! I rarely use this but I hate to see it going to waste, and have recently found that it works quite well with my Lauren Luke foundation brush so that is what I shall do with it!

Vivo Blush and Highlighter Duo Sugar Candy - I fancy a bit of shiny, highlight blush this week a la TOWIE (well, I don't watch TOWIE but from a recent Pixiwoo tutorial I gathered that they like the pink shiny cheeks, no?) so this duo is perfect.

MUA Undressed Palette - You can read my full review of this fabulous item in this post but basically, it is the SHIZZ. I love it!

NYC Liquid Liner - This is also the shizz. Still! Not got bored of this yet, really really like it!

CoverGirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara - I am going to have to throw this out soon, and I don't want to... oh no! This will have to be farewell for my beloved Lash Blast!

I didn't picture any lip products but I will just be playing it safe with the Revlon Lip Butter in Crème Brulée, as an easy a wearable option! Have a great week everyone!

MUA Undressed Palette - Swatches and Naked Palette Comparison

I do not exaggerate when I say I was VERY EXCITED about the new MUA Undressed palette when it was unveiled! It was around this time last year that the MUA Heaven & Earth palette was released and caused somewhat of a furore in the blogging community!

As the official Undressed launch date approached, I tried to remind myself that I in no way need another neutral-esque eyeshadow palette.... but as always, the fact that MUA do fantastic palettes and it is only £4 soon won me over. I purchased one for myself and one for my mum, who was severely hitting pan on her Heaven & Earth! A few days later, the little beauties arrived, and here is the Undressed palette...

The eyeshadows are wonderfully pigmented, very creamy and so easy to blend and work with. There are ten frost/shimmer finishes and two mattes. The matte shades are the least pigmented shadows in the palette, however I find that with most matte eyeshadows, regardless of brand.
TOP L-R: 1, 2, 4
BOTTOM L - R: 7, 8, 9

TOP (L-R): 4, 5, 6
BOTTOM (L-R): 10, 11, 12
(L-R) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
(L-R) 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
Are you thinking the same thing I thought at first?.... Perhaps the name dropped the penny for you! Yes, this is a very good dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palette. A wonderful dupe, in fact. I had previously compared the Naked palette to MUA's Heaven & Earth palette, and there were some similar shades, however the Undressed palette is without doubt the closest you are going to get to the Urban Decay version from a drugstore/highstreet brandA dupe that's AN EIGHTH OF THE PRICE. You may be doubting my claim that it is a wonderful dupe, so here are some comparison photos for your consideration...
(L-R) UD Virgin & MUA 1     /     UD Sin & MUA 2     /     UD Naked & MUA 3     /     UD Sidecar & MUA 4
(L-R) UD Buck & MUA 5      /      UD Half Baked & MUA 6      /      UD Smog & MUA 7      /      UD Darkhorse & MUA 8
(L-R) UD Toasted & MUA 9      /      UD Hustle & MUA 10      /      UD Creep & MUA 11      /      UD Gunmetal & MUA 12
I really don't think my words are required regarding the similarities in the swatches -  a photo speaks a thousand words! I also did an eye look using both palettes... can you tell which eye was done using Urban Decay Naked shadows and which using the MUA?...

I absolutely love the fact that MUA have done what no other drugstore/highstreet make up brand have attempted to do by offering customers a nearly identical palette to the ever-popular Naked. It is a fantastic palette in its own right too from, by far, the best value for money brand out there. MUA have pulled it out of the bag again! You can buy MUA palettes from certain (usually larger) Superdrug stores, and from the online shop, MUA Store!

Have you got Undressed yet?! (you knew I would fit a terrible pun in here somewhere!)

Sunday Night Make Up Shake Up #38

Look at me, posting this at a decent hour on a Sunday! *pats self on back* Thankfully I have had a relaxing weekend with no plans or activities on, which was much needed! Let's get on with this week's selection...

Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer - I don't usually like silicone based primers on a daily basis, but my skin isn't in great shape at the minute so I thought this might be necessary!

NYC All Day Long Foundation Classic Biege* - This is a great match colour wise for me, even when I am my usual pale self! However it doesn't last very long on my oily areas (forehead, nose, chin) so I am hoping the primer will help with that too. Otherwise this is a lovely foundation, with decent coverage and a bargain at less than £4.

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette Pink Spirit - I haven't used this yet but am excited to! Three beautiful shades of pink. I would have loved a shimmery shade in among the three but oh well, you can't have everything!

Benefit PosieTint - This should make a nice base for the pinks in the Sleek palette.

NYX Powder Blush Stone - In case I fancy a bit of contouring.

Inglot 10 Pan Palette - I am using this AGAIN this week because, quite frankly, I love it. And I want to. So there.

No.7 Extreme Length Mascara - This is coming up to its best-before time so I am just trying to get a few more uses out of it.

Sunkissed Mascara - This is a wee cheapie that came in a gift set so I wouldn't imagine it to be great, but the wand is very small so I will use this as 'bottom lash' mascara!

NYC Liquid Eyeliner* - I love this so much and am finding myself using it almost daily now!

L'Oréal Infallible Lipstick Perpetual Peach - A lipstick I picked up the in USA and rarely use, whoops!

Maybelline Lip Polish Baby Mauve - This was part of a present from my dad and step-mum, and I am pretty sure my step-mum picked it up in the USA too as I have never seen them here! A really natural gloss with a hint of mauve.

That is it for this week! Will you be shaking up your make up? I see that Emma of Fluff And Fripperies is too!

Also, I have noticed that I have gained some new followers - hello! It's great to have you here! My follower count is reaching a very exciting number... I can't wait til it does, as I have a wee surprise ready... It begins with a 'G'..... and ends in 'iveaway'!

Sunday Night Make Up Shake Up #37

You may have noticed my absence of over a week from blogging. What can I say, life just doesn't always allow me the time lately! I didn't even get a Make Up Shake Up posted last week which I was a bit annoyed about after 35 weeks of MUSU in a row! However last Sunday I was immensely busy as I had my first photoshoot in Belfast for the lovely ladies of Curiosity Cured! If you would like to see the final photos you can check them out here!

Right, on to this week's products...

Skin79 Super+ BB Cream - Keeping it simple this week with BB Cream. Not been loving foundation recently so hopefully this will be better on my skin.

Natural Collection Cream Blush Rosy Pink - Possibly the best £1.99 ever spent on a blush!

Sleek Blush by 3 Palette Lace - This blush palette is so handy. I love it! These are all quite warm shades and very flattering.

Inglot 10 Pan Palette - SAY HELLO TO MY NEW LOVER

NYC Sky Rise Lengthening Mascara* - I literally just tried this for the first time today and am very impressed! Looking forward to using it this week.

Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner Pencil Black - Sometimes you need a bit of long lasting liner, y'know?

NYC Liquid Lipshine Brighton Beach Peach - Pretty peach lipgloss. NYC are definitely one of my favourite brands for gloss.

Revlon Lip Butter Creme Brulee - This is just an easy product to have in my handbag. Natural colour and  quite moisturising too.

Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stain - Just in case I fancy a pink lip for a change... stranger things have happened!

I hope you all have a fantastic week folks. I am starting a new exercise class routine (help) and it is my mum's graduation on Tuesday so I will have yet another jam packed week!
